Dr. Srikant Ghosh

A scientist of Indian Council Agriculture Research and involved in different aspects of problem-solving research on ticks and tick-borne diseases since last 30 years. Established 04 reference tick strains for characterization of acaricide resistance and developed resistant map. On the basis of mechanism of development of resistance new antitick formulation has been developed. To manage the acaricide resistance problem, through extensive search and technical modification three natural antitick formulations have been developed and ready for commercialization. A multicomponent cross-protective tick vaccine is under experimental trial and initial data is highly encouraging. His team has been awarded with a number of research projects funded by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, National Agricultural Science Fund, European Commission and World Bank. The team has published more than 80 research papers in reputed international journals and 60 research papers in national journals on tick research. He is working as reviewer for many international publication groups viz., Elsevier, Blackwell, Pergamon, Kluwar, Academic Press, Cambridge University Press, Humana, Springer etc. The group has generated patentable data and six patent applications are in different stages of granting by the Indian patent office.
